Our Teacher

Miss Kymm

Hello & Welcome to Oops-A-Daisy Preschool!

My name is Miss Kymm.  I’m looking forward to a fun and exciting school year with your child. It is my goal to have your child look forward to coming to school everyday and leave here feeling loved, educated, confident, and fulfilled in my fun and safe environment I strive to create! I will be sharing with you some tidbits about myself along with the reasons why I am qualified to be your child’s preschool teacher.

My Family.  My husband, Milo and I have been blessed to have three wonderful kids Whitney, Ashley, and Carter. Our family motto is “Work hard, Play hard”, we are always on the lookout for adventure. We spend our spare time outside playing in the water, camping with friends, and spending time with our family at the cabin.

As a parent I know we all want the best for our own children. We want others to see their special traits, that we love so much, and look past their struggles and love them for who they are.

“I am here to tell you I have a HUGE soft spot for my preschool children and I DO love them as if they are my own.”

They are my vitamin D! One of my most favorite places to be is on the beach with my toes in the sand soaking up the sunshine! Since I can’t be on the beach all day, everyday, I need my preschool kids to provide me with sunshine/vitamin D in the classroom!

Favorites. My favorite beverage is Diet Coke! I can often be caught eating frozen Hostess cupcakes in middle of the night! Believe it or not, I love vacuuming, cleaning, and organizing.  Exciting adventures have come our way for the Shaw family.  I have always dreamed of living in the country with my own little farm.  This summer we found our dream on the river banks of Shelley, Idaho.  I am tickled to announce I now have two puppies, two kittens, and two pigs named Mabel and Gertie.  This coming spring will bring many more four legged friends.

“I put a lot of time and energy into my preparation so I can focus on the individual needs of each child during class time.”

My Experience. I have had the privilege of teaching preschool for 13 years. When I started teaching I had one purpose in mind to help every child reach their potential goal both emotionally and academically for Kindergarten. It’s important to me to teach the kids how to learn things the right way the first time! For example, holding their pencil and scissors correctly to forming their letters and numbers from top to bottom and left to right. I put a lot of time and energy into my preparation so I can focus on the individual needs of each child during class time.

All Five Senses. I implement using all five senses in the learning process. The five senses of hearing, touch, sight, taste, and smell are the primary means we use to gain new knowledge. We rarely experience with the one sense alone… People of all ages learn best when applying all these skills!

Special Events. Your child can look forward to being the star student for their birthday, bringing an occasional snack to share with the class, bringing show and tell once a week representing the letter we are working on,  going on field trips, having holiday parties, and so much more! The holidays are very special to me and I like to share that love with the kids! Thanksgiving is my favorite time of year and it becomes the children’s as well. We spend all month talking about what we are thankful for and we prepare for a special  program, to express our gratitude for our parents and grandparents!
